Managed to catch the sunrise at the village on an extremely cold morning. Temperature at the time was around -28 deg C. Donning full winter gear, my gloved fingers started to hurt within seconds when handling the camera and tripod. Gave up on using any of my slotted filters. Went out, got my shots and rushed back into the house.

Village Sunrise.

The village at sunrise.

Here are more pictures of the scenery in this natural lanscape.

We made a trip out townside for some supplies. The town is 40mins away and the town center is just a single street lined with shops selling provisions, produce, food and daily items. And quite a number of restaurants too, seeing how this is along the transportation route of coal trucks from Heilongjiang into Jilin.

Frozen seafood section at the local supermarket.

We also made a trip out to a much larger neighboring village. With more than 200 households, it is a very large sized village but parts of it still maintains the charm. It is a popular village because it is only 15mins away from Hunchun city.

Frozen stream right by village.

Tobacco fields of Ping-an. Many locals have switched over to farming tobacco as it pays better. Sad but true.
